What is StudySync?
StudySync is a web-based program designed to engage students in classic and contemporary texts, increase their speaking and writing skills, and bolster their ability to think critically about complex issues. For which grade level(s) is StudySync most suitable?
The texts in the StudySync library are suitable for a variety of readers including high school, middle school and college–level audiences.
How can I best integrate StudySync into my classroom?
StudySync is designed to allow teachers to integrate the program into their current classroom curriculum in any way they choose. With the deep library of diverse texts and writing prompts, carefully–scripted video lessons, innovative tools for online peer review; and flexible classroom management and teacher assessment, StudySync allows for creative and flexible classroom use. I am a history teacher. Is StudySync appropriate for my students?
StudySync is designed to be used across disciplines. In fact, the ability for StudySync to help scaffold reading based on student interest and the complexity of various texts, makes StudySync the perfect tool not only for language arts classrooms, but for science, social studies, history and other subject areas as well. Our library of over 300 texts is organized by both genre and subject area, allowing for a teacher in any discipline to quickly locate texts that are appropriate for their subject and students.
What do I need to use StudySync? Do all my students need a computer?
All you need to access StudySync is a computer with an internet connection and a browser. You can use StudySync in a one computer classroom, or a multiple computer classroom or lab.
How do I purchase StudySync?
StudySync is available as a one year or multiple year subscription. To begin your subscription, simply fill out the information on our inquiry form, and a confirmation email will be sent to you directly.
Can I try StudySync without obligation?
We are pleased to offer a 60-day trial to any interested teacher. Simply fill out our trial subscription form, and a confirmation email will be sent to you directly.
Can I access StudySync from home?
Yes. Not only can you access all the StudySync features from your home, including the lessons, the library, and the classroom management and assessment tools, you can also access all of your students' Binders, giving you the ability to read and assess papers, communicate with students, and post or update assignments right from your computer.
How do I set up my students in the management system?
Once you have your account you will have access to your Admin interface at StudySync. You can load students one at a time, or load several at once by uploading a file with a list of names. You have the option to add or create a group (class) that the students can be added to. You also have the option to create temporary password for the student. If you do not create a password for the student a temporary random password will be created for them. For each student, a first name, last name and login are required.
